SAP announces expansion of cloud solutions portfolio by industry type
PaaS Initiative meets demands from the retail, professional services and component and machinery industries
SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) announced the expansion of its cloud solutions portfolio to meet the demands of three industries: retail, professional services and industrial machinery and components industry. Developed by SAP and partners on an open platform offered as a service, the solutions help adopt innovations quickly as part of a customer's IT environment.

Developing an Ecosystem for Innovation
Cloud solutions for these industries were developed and run on the SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) and use technologies such as artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to deliver compelling user experiences and to digitize and automate operations. SAP and its partners focus on solutions for customers' core businesses in their industries to help improve end-to-end processes and enable the development of new differentiating models. The three new offerings address the unique challenges of the following industries:
- Retail: Retail companies are facing increasing pressure to invest in innovative business models, seeking new ways to generate value for their ecosystems, especially with the increased demand for purposeful retailing and expectations for better consumer experiences.
